JTAPES Audio Podcast Chris House features an in depth look into Jungle AE audio engineer, Chris House. Chief engineer, Excel Cruz, joins in and asks the questions!
JTAPES Audio Podcast Chris House || #JTAPES is a weekly audio podcast released every Sunday featuring Chicago recording artists, producers and engineers recorded out of Chicago recording studio, Jungle AE.
Jungle AE veteran engineer, Chris House, had no interest in music growing up until his mom grounded him. He had a lot of restrictions during that time, but listening to music was not one of them. It was during that time he had the OutKast CD on repeat and his love for sound and music began. Ironically, the drummer for OutKast’s B.O.B., Ziggy, is Jungle AE’s neighbor inside the Music Garage. House first impression of him changed as soon as he was able to share a very dope conversation.
Sometimes you need to feel out a person with a conversation to connect with them. This is something House does as well with his clients. It’s a studio must and part of the psychology of studio sessions. House does a good job of being honest and giving constructive criticism without softening his guidance. That’s one thing artist love about working with House. You definitely will not get a yes man, but someone that helps brings out the best performance out of you.
Using several different plug ins House harnesses the best possible sound. One of his favorite plug ins is FabFilter Pro Q2. It is a tool used by several studios. It’s visual graphic analyzer is second to none, and you can even side chain another instrument so you can compare the two frequencies and adjust accordingly!
